Participants in this program acquire an understanding of incident response and investigation. They delve into the procedures that should be adopted in the event of an incident and learn how to accurately identify and carry out an incident investigation that complies to both legal obligations and organisational guidelines. This program includes learning the skills to efficiently collect, organise, and analyse data using the systems at their disposal. Participants are also trained on how to effectively prepare, present, and critically review their findings in presentations tailored for specific target audiences.
At the end of this 2-day program, participants will be able to:
- understand what is involved in incident response and incident investigation;
- identify how to conduct a comprehensive incident investigation inclusive of research, analysis and recommendations;
- understand how to collect, organise and analyse information using available systems;
- practice incident investigation and presentation skills to enhance understanding and skill levels; and
- explore what makes an engaging and effective presentation.

This two-day module is supported by workplace application and assessment and delivers three units toward BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
