LDN Wins Gold for the Australian, New Zealand and Asian 2025 Health, Safety & Environment Program of the Year!
LDN has been awarded the Gold Award in the International Business Awards for Health, Safety & Environment Program of the Year – Asia, Australia and New Zealand , celebrating our successful, multi year partnership with global construction giant Webuild.
With the construction sector experiencing a 36% rise in incidents in recent years, Webuild committed to strengthening safety leadership on its Australian projects by focusing on those with the greatest influence on workplace culture: frontline supervisors and leaders.
LDN was initially tasked with adapting Webuild’s global Safety Builders strategy to the Australian context. This resulted in the creation of a practical, nationally accredited, and highly engaging program that equips frontline leaders to influence safety cultures, manage risks, support diverse teams, and model positive safety behaviours.
Currently, this now award winning program is being delivered across projects such as:
- Spark North East Link DC (VIC)
- Surburab Rail Loop (VIC)
- Parklife Metro D&C (NSW)
- Snowy 2.0 (NSW)
- Darwin Ship Lift (NT)
- Woodman Point WRRF (Water Resource Recovery Facility) Upgrade (WA)
- Perdaman Industries Urea Plant (WA)
- Women and Babies Hospital (WA)
- Dampier Bulk Handling Facility Project (WA)
Winning amongst many international entries is a credit to our team, especially as:
- It was adapted specifically for Australian workplaces, reflecting the direct and participative communication style expected on local worksites.
- Went beyond physical safety to address bullying, harassment, role clarity, conflict management, and emotional demand, aligned with WHS Act requirements.
- Built leadership and coaching capability in supervisors who are often promoted for technical skills rather than people leadership.Delivered nationally across multiple Webuild projects to over 1000 participants so far, including hundreds of leaders on Melbourne’s North East Link.
- Achieved a 97% participant satisfaction rating.
What the Judges said
“An excellent example of a globally-informed, locally-sensitive safety program… It didn’t just check safety boxes-it dug deeper into behaviour, culture, and mindset, while staying practical and scalable.”
“Upskilling frontline leaders to address risks from short-service employees is both strategic and highly relevant… This nomination clearly articulates a unique solution to a critical, real-world safety challenge.”
Setting a new benchmark in safety leadership
We thank Webuild in Australia and their Headquarters in Italy for their partnership, as well as every participant who helped bring this program to life
